Stay: La Quinta Resort & Club - There Goes Monica

Stay: La Quinta Resort & Club

I have to admit, when my family makes plans to go places, we never go. When everything is last minute (and expesive) my family is all for it. Its like, the stars do not align unless all the hotels have raised the fares for the night. I kid, I kid but this is what actually happened last weekend.

My mom celebrated her birthday ( Happy Birthday Mama B!) and my dad was coming back from a business trip. He was not gonna make if for an entire weekend but maybe for a night. On Friday I started looking at prices, (as my father wanted to surprise Mama B) and they were resonable! I narrowed it down to The Hyatt Park Aviara in Carlsbad , The Omni Ranch, and La Quinta Resort. After consulting with my dad La Quinta won. Sadly, I waited to book the room the next day and it went up by $100.

La Quinta Resort and Spa is a property owned by Hilton under the Waldorf Astoria brand. It located in La Quinta, California a few miles from Palm Desert. During Summer it can reach up to 120 degrees but it did not even reach 80 the night that we were there. The Resort is huge, which I could only compare to the Grand Wailea in Maui (Another Waldoft Astoria property). It is composed on casitas, pools, and jacuzzis. On premises there is also a award winning spa (which we sadly did not take part in because of time issues) and golf course.

As said before, the prices went up before I could book and I ended up booking the cheapest casita available. This casita was situated next to parking and had a small seating area.We were escorted to the casita via golf cart as it was dark and we could not see anything. It felt longer in the cart that it actually was from the front desk. The casita was spacious for a family of four and the beds were real queen beds! They also had a mini fridge and coffee maker. Room service was around the clock and was delivered really quickly.

We had less than 24 hours in this resort and we want to go back. The only thing I would change would be booking last minute as one room was $350 the night including all taxes and service fees. Apart from that the service was spectacular and the food was delicious which was what we were looking for.

Have you been here or wanna go?? Let me know in the comments!
