Take-off Report - There Goes Monica

Take-off Report

12:22 AM

Finally, another week done! There is just something about a sense of accomplishments for a week. Sadly, it was not as productive for me but I am doing the heavy-lifting this weekend. Working 20 hours in 2 days can be tough but I will rather do it now than 10 years from now. Anyway, Take-off Report will be a round up of travel, food, and hospitality news that sparked my interest during he week. Enjoy!

1. Virgin America flys to Hawaii! -
I have to admit, I have never flown Virgin ( Thank you Alaska <3) but I love the concept. I love the brand and I also love Richard Branson (totally platonic). I know they are based out of SF and now they will be offering flights from SFO- HNL(Honolulu , Nov 3) & OGG (Maui, Dec 4) . I would give everything to be on that inaugural flight! If you are based off SF then book now! Flights are a really great price!

2. Grand Mayan Opens in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) Mex -
Puerto Penasco has always been on my families go-to but we always dread the drive. Its about 6 hours and we usually decide on Rosarito or Ensenada (it's way closer). There is many Condo  Rental "resorts" but the Mayan Brand just opened their Grand Mayan on the 1st of March leaning towards a higher-end, family resort. We might just have to re-think the long drive, could be worth it!

3. The O&O Palmilla Los Cabos..is Back
After hurricane Odile last year, O&O was in very bad shape and closed its doors. This month, it will re-open with high spirits and eagered to welcome back its beloved guest. It's great to see the contributions from sister resorts and past guest to the team members of the O&O Palmilla and their families;as they continues to rebuilt their homes. Keep up the good work Kerzner International.

4. Los Cabos Tourism.. Poised to Growth.
Keeping with the above, this is a piece on the expansion of Cabo after rebuilding is interesting. Cabo is a tourist run economy and without tourism, many of people that live in Cabo can't support their families. It's great to see Cabo coming back as a major tourist attraction (in all income levels) and being stronger than ever. A recommended fast read.

Anything interesting in the travel front this week?
